In or Out?

The home search bug has hit both of us full force, since the holidays are almost over. After a talk about what we were looking for and what we will need in the next 2-5 years, we've decided to broaden our search. 

We currently like in a 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment with attached sun room and patio. The closets are a good size and we have around 1300 sq feet. While it is a cute setup, and great for post-grads, we are turning 28 and 29 this year. 

Here is what we are currently looking for:

• At least 4 bedrooms, or 3 bedrooms and an office area
• 2.5-3 bathrooms
• Finished basement
• Pets allowed
• Freedom to paint

With these criteria, we've decided to look outside the Atlanta perimeter as well. Not TOO far, but rental housing availability is much better and cheaper. We can get a newer model house, and not have to make many compromises on space. We are still looking in the Decatur/Virginia Highlands/Chastain/Inman Park areas but that is waxing optimistic. 

Our anticipated move out date is the end of April. 

Holiday Trim

This is our first Christmas in our own apartment. It's our first tree, our first little party and the first time my BF realized that I might be an ornament hoarder in training. 

Here's a small idea of our current (holiday) space. 

The Starting Point

Next Spring, my BF and I will be moving from our post-grad apartment into a rental home.

Over the last 2 1/2 years of living together, we've done a great job of turning our collegiate "stuff" into something resembling a home. But now, we've decided to leave our tiny apartment for something that can fit more than three people at a time. 

This new blog will focus on our search, the move and *fingers crossed* the redecoration of our future house.
